Adding tulle?

So I have a question I am hoping someone on here can answer for me, maybe a seamstress, bridal consultant, or bride that has tried it themselves...

I am in love with the top of my dress, I do love the bottom, but I love the effect of tulle. I tried on another with tulle and loved it, the top was just too plain for me. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to add tulle to it, or even better, a way to add tulle without sewing onto my dress? I am scared to have it get messed up. Someone suggested a tulle petticoat with a different type of band so it either matched the silk on my dress or I could put a different band on so it blended it, maybe add a little bling. I am just unsure of where I would get this made and if it would look alright.

I really know nothing when it comes to this part, so if anyone can offer any advice, I would really appreciate it!

If I were in your shoes I would visit a local bridal fabric shop, and consult one of the employees there. I would not just visit a joannes though, I would chose a place that specializes in pageant and bridal fabrics, they can usually also refer you to local seamstresses that can help with custom alterations. I would venture to think it wouldn't be too expensive. Tulle is really inexpensive and relatively easy to work with.

Thats probably what I will end up doing.. would i go to a place like house of brides or davids bridal, or are you talking specifically about a fabric shop? Not sure if I have anything around here besides a Joanns or craft store.

I assume I probably would have to just go in and talk to someone, just was hoping there was someone who either did this already or knew more about it. Thank you for the advice!
