Adding to HDDMR?

We have eight people going to Disney in less than 2 weeks

We have reservations for HDDMR for 7 of the 8(one decided later to join us for dinner). Anyone had experience adding one to a reservation. Dining reservations told me they needed to cancel the original and we might not get the reservation back

Anyone had an experieince with a situation like this?
