Adding to a dining res

We have a reservation at Yachtsman for 6 on Nov. 13th to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday but now we need to add 2 more people. I`ve been checking and checking and there isn`t anything available. What would you do? Would calling the restaurant be worth it or do you think something will open up when it gets closer to the date. Thanks so much for any help!

I haven’t been successful adding a person by phone, they just tell me to keep checking the system. I’d set an alert for a table for 2, keep my fingers crossed and then if you get it, ask if you can be sat together

Adding people to ADRs is a question that comes up every week. Keep checking as people do change or cancel ADRs all the time. Set up alerts in the various sites. ADRs often show up the day before as people finalize their plans. Try to get a spot for 2 & ask to be seated together or close. But going from 6 to 8 might not be that easy, there are only so many large tables. Last resort you can check at the restaurant on-site. But have a back up plan in case you can’t add the 2 extras.

I would just get to the restaurant earlier and tell them that you had two other family members join you as a surprise. You'll probably have to wait a little longer, but I can't see them turning them away.

how big is the party now? Tables are all set for minimum of 4. so if you have a rest for 2, showing up with 2 more would not be a big deal. Anything else would be an issue and you need to call the host stand.

No, Yachtsman’s Steakhouse has tables for 2, as do many restaurants. We’re a party of 2 & are usually seated at a small table for 2. Being seated at a table big enough for 4 is more unusual. The OP said their current party is for 6, wants to increase to 8. Yachtsman’s has large tables that can accommodate 8. The issue will be how many are already reserved that night.
