Adding the dining plan a month before our trip

We are DVC members and have decided to use the dining plan for this trip, I have not used the dining plan in years. I want to add it within the next week. I know our credits will be on our magic bands. Do I need to make sure the dining plan is purchased before the 30 day mark since that is the last day you can customize your bands. Or will the credits be added when we check in?

As a DVC member with a points reservation, you can purchase the dining plan as late as two days prior to arrival.

Magic bands are just a key to your MDE profile. Everything is stored in your account; the band just allows access to the contents. There's nothing "on" the band.
