Adding special occasion after booking

Is there anyway to add a special occasion reference to a dining reservation after booking without calling? Or if I do call and wait for the long wait time and add the occasion to my room reservation will they be able to see it when I check in at tge restaurant?

you would need to call but be aware they may see it and do nothing about it.

When you check in via MDE, you can check off that you are celebrating a special occasion. There are options for birthdays, honeymoons, anniversaries, etc.

The option in MDE appears on the edit resort reservation screen. Sometimes the option is unavailable. I did get through eventually to add a birthday.

Don't bother calling. Just tell CM at restaurant . Many have little cakes in hand you can purchase.

What is your goal? If you're hoping for pixie dust, best bet is to tell them very simply and politely when you check in. The signature restaurants will usually ask. Or might look at your button if you have one. If you want to arrange for something - a cake delivered or something like that - just make those arrangements and the crew at the restaurant that night will know.

On our last trip a few years ago my DH decided when he woke up on his birthday that he wanted a birthday button after all so we just went to the front desk and got one. As we walked around CMs and guests wished him a HB.
He has food allergies and at lunch and dinner our waiter or waitress apparently noticed the button and he was brought sorbet with a candle in it and was sung to. Not sure if things have changed with COVID.
