Adding & prioritizing 1 day tix?

hello all ! The package I have for our Oct stay has 8 day hopper tickets that cannot be modified or have days added to it.

I would like to purchase a 1 day ticket separately to add to my package (I know it is cheaper to buy more days, but I will only use 1 more).

It seems the easiest way is to buy a 1 day park hopper, then I don't need to worry about the order in which the tickets are used. However, if I wanted to save a few $ and just buy the 1 day MK tix, how do I make sure THAT tix is used first? Can the hotel do it? Or do I need to stop at guest service at MK before entering?

Also, playing around with the website, when you go to order tickets, it's asking me to pick a date. My trip is not till Oct, and those dates have not been uploaded yet. I'm assuming this is just for pricing purposes (value, peak, etc) and they don't actually hold you to the date you pick? I would use the tix on Fri Oct 20th, so was thinking of just getting a peak day to be safe.

I am curious as to why you can't add more days to it? Is it some kind of promotional ticket? Adding days is usually not a problem.

They can prioritize the tickets for you at a guest relations window. I think they may be able to do it over the phone too, but I'm not sure.

What you are proposing will cost you upwards of $160 or more than just adding one more day.

And, if all you are doing is buying ANOTHER one-day Hopper to add a day to your trip,
(and you intend to USE them all) the tickets do NOT NEED to be prioritized.

And, do not buy the "MK ticket."
Your original 8-day ticket can be used at MK as many days as you like.
Then, your "non-MK ticket" can be used to enter any of the other parks.

If you are adding a "day" BEFORE your package begins, you CAN activate and use your Package Ticket up to 10 days before your check-in date.

A few thoughts here:

If you buy a value ticket and then decide to use it on a peak day, you can just pay the difference in cost. That's what I would do. But be aware: it is kind of a hassle to upgrade and might require waiting in line. Also it's a gamble: you won't be protected against any ticket price increases if you end up having to upgrade to a peak ticket.

Agree, definitely don't get a MK ticket. It's more expensive than the other three theme parks. I'd plan to visit Epcot, Animal Kingdom, or the Studios park on that extra day. (Actually, if I'm going to pay full price for one day, I'd probably plan to visit Universal instead.)

We have the agency exclusive package that is basically conference type tickets. They are 8 day hoppers plus a flex feature (Mini golf, etc) that cannot be changed. I know this is costing me $, but we really want to go to a park for 9 days. Didn't think about getting a different park tic to save even more $. I know for sure I am going to MK that first day. Is it possible to just use my package tix hopper that 1st MK day, then use, say, an Epcot single day tix The next day? And how would I make sure they are using that single day instead of one of my package hopper days? Thanks so much. I appreciate it

1. Yes. If you are adding a "day" BEFORE your package begins, you CAN activate and use your Package Ticket up to 10 days before your check-in date.

3. It won't really matter much, unless you intend to use ALL of the rest of your 8-day ticket at MK. Or, possibly visit MK on your LAST day.
But, if you want to prioritize your one-day ticket to be used "next" (on any particular day)
just go to any Guest Relations before your next park entry and ask them to set your 1-day ticket to the highest priority.
That ticket will be used "next."

Do you know if your 8-day ticket is valid for 14 days from the first use? Or do the eight days have to be used consecutively?

Assuming that your 8 days don't have to be used consecutively, then your strategy will work. You can ask Guest Services to prioritize your tickets, but that will take a lot of time and is a bit of pain. And if they don't set it up correctly, it will be even more time consuming to get it corrected.

Your other option is to buy the one day, say, Epcot ticket and associate it to a set of fake names in your MDE account. Or don't register the ticket in MDE at all. Get a one-day plastic ticket for that one day, and make sure you use only that ticket on the day of your choice. You'll have to be very certain that you don't accidentally present your magic band or room key for admission on that day.
