As the question has been asked a few times lately I thought I would explain how I do it, and if it gives others and idea of what to do then all well and good
I personally use Photobucket to host my pictures, then copy a link from here to the thread of trip report I am doing at the time.
The first thing you will need to do is to sign up for a Photobucket account. There is a free version, and a Pro version. To be honest if all you intend doing is using it for the Dis then the free version will be more than enough.
As you go through the registration process - and don't worry, there are only 3 steps - you will come across the screen below. If all you want is the free version click on the 'No Thanks' text (circled below in red)
After this you should now be ready to start uploading your pics, but first you will want to make sure that you have set it up so that it uploads them at the right size. The next screen you should see is this one...
Click on the text 'More Options' and the following pop up will appear.
I have found that the option that works best on the Dis is the one circled in red - 800x600. Once you have selected this all of your pics will upload at this size. You can change it in the future if you need to by repeating the steps above.
Now to start uploading those pics.
Select where you want to upload your pics from - in this example they are stored on my computer - then click on the big blue button that says 'Upload images and videos'
Navigate to where the pictures you want to upload are stored. At this point you can either upload them one at a time, or you can use the Ctrl button and upload multiple pics.
Once your pic - or pics - have finished uploading you will then be given the chance to create a folder for them to go into, and to add names and descriptions to your pictures. Personally I have never bothered with this as they don't show up on the Dis anyway, but you may be more organized than me
Finally you then need to add it to your thread. Go to the Photobucket album that the pic is in and position your cursor over the picture you want. Of the 4 different options that appear under the picture you need to select the bottom one - IMG Code.
Click on this so that it is highlighted in blue, then right click and select 'Copy'
It's then just a simple case of pasting this into your thread
Hopefully this is pretty straight forward and will help you show us some of your great holiday pics - but if anyone feels I have overlooked something then please feel free to mention it
