Adding Person to Reservation

So, we are booked at GCH in September at the dapper days rate. Currently, we have 4, but now my HU would like to join us, making us 5 (2 adults, 3 children). I know the GCH can hold up to 5, but the dapper days site only allows for 4. I can't add another person. Do you think I could add him onto the room once we get to the hotel? Normally I wouldn't worry as we are not exceeding the room capacity, but he will need a room card for EMH. Anyone know if it is possible to add him to the room when we arrive? I've considered switching to PPH, but no dapper day rates are available for our days.

The official occupancy is 5, so in my unofficial opinion you will be able to add him to your room.
I often add names while checking in at GCH, but don't recall if I have had 5 names during Dapper Days (or Gay Days).

Why don't you call the hotel now and ask if they can add the 5th person to the reservation now? I have added and dropped names to reservations in the past with out a problem when I called in advance.

I had this same situation last time I booked the dapper day rate. I just called to add that last person since I was requesting a layout that fit 5 people and I knew the hotel would be fully booked. This was the only time I've stayed at the GCH, so I had no clue about the sleeping bag/bed situation, usually we stay at the DLH where there is more than enough room. The woman checking us in was wicked rude and just said "there will be enough beds for everyone", never mentioning the trundle or a sleeping bag. We ended up getting a queen/bunk room that we didn't realize had a trundle bed. Long annoying story aside, we obviously discovered the trundle bed after asking and it was perfect, tight but good.

Bottom line, I would definitely call. You can either call the hotel or the convention line and they'll adjust it for you :)

Thank you all! I will certainly call the hotel in advance to get the 5th person added, just wanted to make sure this was possible first. I don't mind if the extra bedding is the sleeping bag, my 5 yr old would actually prefer that, or the trundle. Either way, we'll make it work to stay at the GCH at such a fabulous rate.

I just wanted to update...I did call the group reservations line and they were happy to add the 5th person. She even said she would request the daybed room (without my asking) but I told her with 3 little kids, we prefer the bunk bed setup (they are excited about it). Also, just FYI, she added my Dapper Days rate tickets right to my reservation. The beauty is I won't be charged for them until I check in and they will be given to me right at that time as well. So much better than printing/paying in advance. They are also changeable/upgradeable if we change our mind about what we want. I'm just so pleased we are getting such a great package deal! Total cost for 6 nights with 3day park hoppers will be $2900 for our family of 5 to stay at the GCH! That coupled with the disney gift cards I've been accumulating through various methods makes this trip quite affordable.

So glad it worked out easily! I did the same thing when we stayed at the GCH for dapper day, it was so nice to have everything at check in. I have an AP, but everyone else in my family needed tickets and I wanted to pay with Disney gift cards (something I couldn't do on the convention ticket website). We are very similar, lol. I save up gift cards for months before a trip and it makes it so much more manageable when we check in and there are no surprises.
