Adding onto 5-Day Park Hopper Tickets?

So according to this you just have to make sure to upgrade by the last day of a multi-day ticket.

I wish we could have 7 days too. I am here praying for a Christmas party so I can at least have one extra night.

We visit from Oklahoma and really want more time too. We went this past May for 8 days, so we just upgraded to a season pass and we're going to take an extra trip this Spring to take advantage of them. I got the 4 days with the 5th day free. I was worried about when I'd need to upgrade, but I called and I was told it just needed to be before the ticket booths closed on the last day of the ticket. The last day was my birthday and a blocked day, so I wanted to use the paper tickets for that day. The park closed that night at 11 or 12, but the booth was open until 1a.m. I think I got there about 11ish and it took 45 minutes to convert the tickets (with no wait), so be prepared for that.

Well, by adding an extra day, we just buy a set of one day non-hopper tickets. We don't bother with the hopper as our 5 day has it and our last day is always Disneyland.

While 5 days is more than enough to see everything, it is not quite enough to wander slowly, which is my favourite of favourite ways to experience the DLR.

Sorry, I misunderstood. The title of the thread was "Adding onto 5 day Hopper Tickets". I thought you had found a way to add on to a 5 day ticket.

I feel the same way about 5 days not being enough. Last year we caved and bought APs with the anticipation of returning again just inside a year to make use of them again. Even a couple extra short days made a big difference for us.

It's totally bogus and a disaster that they've gone down to only 5 day tickets. I remember when they sold 8 DAY tickets, and I used them. 8 days was a great amount of time at DL. It's totally foolish, idiotic, and unreasonable that they've cut it down to 5.

And I'd say that's unlikely to change back. They said they had to go down to 5 to combat ticket fraud on longer tickets. But since then they started adding photos to everyone's ticket account, so that should preclude fraud being an issue. But that happened some time ago and they haven't added any longer tickets back.

My guess is there really isn't a huge market for 6+ days at Disneyland. Yes we see posts here for them but Disney Fan Message boards are not comprised of "average" Disneyland visitors.

I don't think it would have cost that much to keep selling them I know id use them and so would a lot here. Who cares if we aren't the average Disney visitor they shouldn't have taken away the tickets like they did it also could have gained them money.

Just to add to this can upgrade to the AP anytime that day and your admission is valid, blockout day or not. You don't have to wait until the day ends. You can even go right to customer service in the park after getting through the turnstile and do it then.

My family is going to Disneyland on the weekend, and being from Canada we try and utilize as much time in the park as we can. We used to buy the 7 or 8 day hoppers and spread them out with other day excursions or days off from the park. We were so bummed to have them take these extra days away from us. We love being able to see everything, and then go see all the favorites a few more times. So we purchased a 5 day hopper for our up coming trip, and my mom surprised me for my birthday splurging for extra 3 day hoppers. I don't even want to ask what those extra few days cost. We would probably have been better off to get annual passes if there werent blackout days. But now we are going for 8 days again starting this Saturday. I wish there were not 5 day cap. Honestly its such a rip for those people who have to come so far to enjoy the park.

Yeah, we miss the 7 day tickets too, so we considering buying an extra day like adding on. We usually get the 5-day using Airmiles (so it seems free), and adding a day just makes the trip better.

We have the same 2x 5 day park hoppers from Airmiles, that we are planning to upgrade to an annual pass when we get there. So we will only be out of pocket $250 each for annual passes. We will then have 7 days in the park, and will come back in Feb and again early Sept next year.
