Adding on Points

We currently have points at OKW, VB and BWV.

Lokking to get some more.

Does anyone one know when SSR points will go on sale?

How much will they be per point?

Are any of the other resorts still not sold out, if not how much are they per point.

Rumors are flying fast and furious that SSR will start sales August 3. The price is said to be $89 and the end date is 2054. Inventory is dwindling at BCV and Vero but may still be available. I think the price is still $84.

I just talked with my advisor today about adding on, too. We have a Sept use year and everything is full, but some of the use years still have very limited avail. Currently, the points are $84/pp, except they are offering Specials (-$15 pp) on Vero, if avail. He told me they think the SS is going to be $89pp, but they think the time will be 50 years vs the 39. I had to request he call me back w/ more info next Monday when Ss goes on sale.

We just added on today at BWV. With our June use year, we could choose from BWV or BCV. Saratoga springs goes on sale 8-3 form $89 per point.

My advisor told me that he thought that, if adding on now, we would not get immediate points, only points for next year. Has anyone heard this? I was thinking that we would get the full # of points to use for 2003 and then get the new 2004 allotment like normal. My use year is September, so I wanted the Sept. 2002 points (which I realize would exp end of this Aug), the new September 2003 points and to be able to borrow from Sept 2004, if purchasing the additional points. Any news on that?

Do you mean for SSR? Since it's not opening until 2004, there probably will not be 2003 points. If it's 50 years until 2054, then 2004 would be the first year.

yes, I was referring to SSR. But wouldn't they give points to use at other resorts now?

Although DVC doesn't have too much available right now, there are a lot of resales out there for all of the club locations except BCV. Even with closing costs, if you get this year's points, it's a really good deal.

If I recall correctly, those who bought preopening got points back to Feb as the earliest use year (closed in June). I would expect something similar at SS. It would then depend on your use year as to whether you would get points backdated but I'd be surprised if you got 2003 points. Likely just 2004 points but possibly starting a few months before occupancy. With MB, declared but unsold inventory and other flexibilities, they can handle some extra points floating arround up to a point.
