Can I add options like park hopper and no expiration after I buy a base ticket?

Park Hopper can be added at any time.

My understanding is that they have discontinued the "no expiration" option.

@Dano1182 I've been told that yes you can add the Park Hopper [PH] option on at anytime and that the price remains same whether or not you purchase it before or after with all of your tickets. So one tip that I've read is to just load up a Disney gift card [gc] with however much the PH option costs times the amount of days you will be staying so that way if you do decide to "hop" between parks you still can and if you have any extra money on the gc then that can be used to just buy souvenirs and stuff. It might seem like just an extra hassle, but hey it might be worth it in the end because if you decide to go everyday then you're covered and if you don't then you'll just have more spending money :)

Hope this makes sense.

@mom2rtk Every Disney travel agent that I've talked to has asked if I want the "no expiration" option and I've read that they've taken it off the boards at the theme parks but that if you ask for it specially that they might be able to still add it.

Oh and no I don't believe you can add on the no expiration after you buy the tickets because they are special tickets. But I'm sure that if you bought the no expiration tickets you could still add the PH option whenever you wanted to.

Although Disney had removed the non expiration option from their signage, it was available to upgrade to at Guest Services. HOWEVER, what MOM2RTK was referring to was, as of this past Sunday, February 22, Disney has ELIMINATED the non expiring option for tickets. The authorized WDW ticket sellers still have some supplies of these tickets and will sell them until they run out. Disney will honor all of these already existing tickets but just will not sell anymore.

OP - you can always upgrade a ticket, as long as it's within 14 days of 1st use or before it is used up. If you have a 10 day ticket and decide on day 9 that you want to add Park Hopping or WaterParks , it is added for the entire length of the ticket, even if most of it has been used up. That being said , I believe it is a flat rate/same cost for anything more than a 2 day ticket , approx $58 I believe, and that will cover wether you have a 3 day ticket or 10 day ticket.
Sorry, I have been using mostly Non-expiring 10 PH & WP tickets lately or APs and off the top of my head only know the approximate upgrade prices. The exact amounts are easy to find here or on WDW website, and I'm certain someone here can tell you the exact amount including tax :)

Also...if you are interested in or think the non expiring tickets might be off value to you, I believe that a few of the authorized ticket sellers for Disney still have some. You can try Undercover Touist, Official a Ticket Center, or Maple Leaf. Also Orbitz and Cheaptickets. I have personally used UCT and OTC, and had excellent service. Across these boards you will find hundreds of positive testimonials on all of these agency's. Touringplans.com, the Unofficial Guide site has a calculator that can tell you who has the best priced ticket that you are looking for. Unless you will be making 3 short trips or more from a 10 day ticket( like two 3day trips and a 4day trip or five 2day trips etc), then the high price of a non expiring ticket would not be worth it for your needs, BUT if you will use it for several short trips it can save you BIG money. My 10 day PH with WaterParks will save me $1154-1516! However I usually use them for single day or 2 day trips combined with party tickets or WaterParks, seaworld etc.

****check out Cheshire Figments sticky on tickets....it explains everything perfectly

Park Hopper is one set price starting with the 4-Day ticket, and no matter what your ticket is -- a 4-day ticket, a 7 day ticket, a 10-day ticket, it's $64 (plus tax), and it covers every park day on your ticket. If you've used 3 days of a 10-day base ticket, then want to add PH, the cost of PH will still be $64. There's no pro-rated discount.
PH cost
MK One-Day ticket - $50
EP-HS-AK One-Day ticket - $58
2-Day ticket - $50
3-Day ticket - $50
4-Day ticket - $64, 5-Day ticket - $64, 6-Day ticket - $64, 7-Day ticket - $64, 8-Day ticket - $64, 9-Day ticket - $64, 10-Day ticket - $64

I did not know this, thank you! :)

I've been loading up on the base tickets due to the price increase and did not opt for the PH. It's good to know that this can be added if we decide that we miss the hopper advantage. Thanks!
