We are planning to add on in either Oct or Jan. I can not do it earlier due to financial obligations. My use year is Feb. The rule of 4 will be in effect can I still bank those points since it will be after Spet? If I buy say 40 and my use year is Feb I wouls get the 40 and then 40 more in Feb correct or not?

If your add-on is thru DVC directly, you will be allowed to bank the points (based on the current policy). If the purchase is by resale, you will not likely be allowed that courtesy.

We added-on on January 22 with a Feb UY and we received and banked our 2010 UY points. Also, since we were already in calendar year 2011, we didn't have to pay any MF's on the 2010 points.

Providing they have Feb UY points for you, you will get 2011 UY points if you add on as late as Jan 2012.

Disney does allow you to bank beyond the deadline for new points. In addition, if you book a trip with borrowed points and then add on, they even let you replace the borrowed points with the new ones and put the borrowed ones back. This is the only time they allow you to "undo" borrowing.
