Adding more than 6 to DAS and other question

My son has Autism and qualifies for DAS. Our trip next year will include grandparents and aunt/uncle so we will be a total party of 11. Will they let us add that many to my son’s DAS profile as long as no more than 6 get a return time at once? I’d like him to be able to experience rides with different family members. I’m also wondering if Genie+ times would at all line up with DAS return times, if some members of our group purchase that. Do DAS return times now have only an hour window to use? I thought I read that somewhere. We have had several instances where we have to take a break and even leave the park. On the old system, we could come back hours later and the DAS return time would still be good.

You can ask. I haven't read any reports of more than 6 total since the changes. You may need to add the extras at Guest Relations in the park, if it's allowed. In the past more than 6 has required a supervisor over-ride with all persons present.

The regular DAS Return Times obtained within the parks are open-ended -- return anytime after hh:mm up until park close for that day. The new Advanced Selections are a set 1-hour window; if the time doesn't work out for your plans you can allow it to expire. You may be able to coordinate Genie+ for some members with either DAS Return Time or Advanced Selections.

We are a family of 8 and never have had a problem. But we are also all immediate. Exhausted parents at guest services with all 6 kids!!! No one was telling us to pick which two kids weren’t connected to the das!

Ditto.

We were told it was no problem for our party of 8 (a few months back- I’m still waiting to go through the video chat with the new setup), but I was also told that it was because we were all immediate family that we could go over the 6 limit. I think you may have a hard sell there. Just be prepared to be told no, and be ecstatic if it’s a yes 😉

What we've done in that situation is just trade/pass around magic bands. You could also use the app to tap those people in. Other than the DAS-holder, no one cared if the people matched the names on magic bands.

In August I had 10 on my DAS (my family of 5 plus my sister's family of 5). We were allowed to have a max of 6 for any ride. I renewed my DAS at Epcot for my family then when my sister's family arrived a few days later I had them added at MK. I always go in knowing that anyone added beyond DH and my own children is pixie dust and not to be expected.

They have allowed us to have 12 on the DAS before (not all immediate family), but they might only let 6 of you on a ride. There have been occasions when the CM allowed more than 6 on a ride at one time, but no guarantee.
