GEEK Question for the scrapbookers, historians, geeks out there.
Was thinking when I get around to doing husband's deployment scrapbook (digitally & printed) that I am really not going to be able to get him to write out any info for the pages. And I sure don't know all the military jargon or what happened while he was there.
Then I remembered seeing someone's Disney vacation scrapbook. They added scannable QR codes (or a written out URL) that took you to a youtube video they posted of the parade, instead of 50 parade photos. I thought neat idea.
Maybe "interview" husband (video or just audio) & he can give what ever info he wants to about the set of photos linked to it. Something nice to have. In his own words & voice -- years from now. Not sure I can do it on youtube though. Security? Private? I will look into that.
But have you seen others do any method of attaching digital video or audio media to a page....that will stand the test of time with technology & media changes? I've seen people interview elders about history moments or their life, but I don't know what they do with the video.
I've seen a couple products you speak into & attach to the page. But he might need more than the 20 seconds or so they offer. And may get lumpy with one on every page or so. And no video with that option.
I will write out some journalling of course, but thought this would be really nice extra years from now.
Thanks. Just collecting ideas at this stage.
