So my dad and brother have decided last minute that they want to tag on to our reservation for Sept 25-Oct 4th. We are staying at POP and have upgraded to DDP instead of free QS DP.

They were going to stay in their own room but there is no free dining hotel rooms(value or mod) available those days and the only option they have is deluxe so we just would rather them stay in our room.

I could just call Disney but I feel that I tend to always get people with attitude? So I figured I'd ask dis first!

Couple of Questions...

1) Price should be just the cost of 9 additional park hoppers + upgrade to DDP correct? Or is there a per person fee?

2) Since free dining booking ends on Aug. 8th can I book them later since I already have the room or will they need to be on the reservation by Aug 8th?

3) Could I add them after final payment was due and just pay the extra when we do add them?

Any input would help, our 45 days is Aug 11th and while this is seriously killing my Disney OCD my dad does need a vacation so I will make it work! :wizard:

1. The additional cost would be their park tickets, upgrade cost of DDP, plus a fee for each additional adult in the room. If there are already 2 adults in the room, an additional cost of $10/nt per person will be added for each extra adult. If your brother is 18 or older, there will be an additional $20/nt charged for all nights; if he is under 18, there will be an additional $10/nt charge for all nights.

2 & 3. You can add them after 8/8, but must do it at least 3 days prior to arrival. Packages are subject to a $50 change fee for any changes made 44 days or less from arrival, but Disney usually waives this fee when the total cost increases (which would happen in your case). Keep in mind that you will have to pay in full at the time they are added if you do it after the 45 day mark.

I would have them check for a room. Sometimes there are cancellations and rooms open up. If not you can certainly add them to your room. Have a great trip!

You can add them to your room for the tickets and FD but then also get a 2nd room only for them to sleep in so you have more space.

For our September trip my mom is staying at WBC in a condo and we have a room at CBR so I just added her to our room for the tickets and FD and then she will sleep in her own room at night :)

There is no charge for under age 18. If more than 2 adults 18 or over, it's $15 per person at a value resort.

**correction**
I meant 9 park hoppers per person so x2

If your ticket is more than a 1 day ticket, park hopper costs the same regardless of how many days you have on your ticket.

An adult 9 day ticket plus park hoppers is $430.26 per ticket.

Just FYI: I note that your mom stayed offsite for the 2nd "not free dining room." Whole different story to try to do both rooms onsite last August.

I had to work very hard (argue with many CMs) to get a 2nd room at POR for our family. We had 2 rooms booked at POR: 1 room free dining (we had a PIN or bounceback - can't remember), and a 2nd room at bounceback discount room only rate (from 2 separate previous stays). The problem is that Disney will not (at least not without a fight) let the same person be listed in 2 rooms. They ultimately did it, but it was not easy. They had to escalate my call several levels. The 2nd guy (sounded very knowledgeable) said - when I said I could have just booked the 2nd 'room only' room online - he said the system would have canceled it prior to our arrival. He was clear that you cannot be in 2 rooms at once.
Just my experience. Who knows if I just had bad luck of the CM draw.

If you are looking at getting free dining for them, I would certainly be prepared to add them before the offer ends. Usually, changes after the offer ends means no offer!!

That is correct and I do know that, but I guess I assumed the OP would see that a charge of $20/nt would be for both extra guests ($10 each) or just $10/nt for dad if brother was under 18.

Also, I just went on the Disney site and priced 4 adults at Pop and it's only charging $10/pp per night (total of $20/nt extra), not $30. The moderates are $15/nt extra, but AFAIK (and according to the website), values are only $10.

Adding another room to your reservation after a promo has expired cannot be done, but changes to an existing reservation can be made even if the promo has expired.

Good to know, so used to universal where I book all the rooms in my name and then worry about who sleeps where when we check in. But heck you could have 2 profiles with different addresses. Not to many people have unique names out there.

We have done this a few times and since we do have a unique last name, I simply put a version of our names on the room only reservation (I.e. William on FD room and Bill on RO room) and have never had an issue when reserving nor checking in.

THIS...exactly what I've been trying to find out. MY BIL has a FD package in a CSR room and it is only him on the reservation. He is asking if he can add one. I will call Disney tomorrow...but what will he be paying for if he adds a guest? Park tickets only??

Yes...and if he has, for example, a 5 day MYW base ticket attached, the additional guest is required to purchase the same.

FWIW, I currently have my name on multiple rooms at the CBR -- one room I am listed with my husband. One room I am listed with my kids.

Both are associated with my profile on MDE...

I'd call Disney. They are the ones who are going to end up charging you anyway. The numbers could be a surprise given the complexity of your request.

That is not good. Not so long ago a poster had her reservations both cancelled when she was on two.
