Adding Gifs to a post

OK I'm feeling pretty stupid right now. Can someone please help me figure out how to add gifs to post? I am looking at the website giphy . . . is that one Ok to share on the disboards? There are several different embed codes to choose from . . . Help!
btw, I did look through other questions on this board and found one about adding gifs, but I need it broken down even more bc I didn't get that
