Adding extra people to reservations

We have an upcoming trip in January that started out as just 4 of us.
Now my daughter and her wife are coming along.
We easily switched from a room at POP Century to the family suite at ASMusic but I'm stuck on adding them to dining reservations.
I found a table for 2 within 30 minutes of our reservation at the sci-fi dine in but it won't let me book it because I already have a "conflicting" reservation. Is there any way to only book ressies for 2 of our group?
Maybe it's easy and I'm just not finding a way to do it.
Also, what has been anyone's experience of showing up and asking if we can add 2 people to the ressie if we didn't mind waiting for a bigger table?

I expect it would be very difficult to add 2 people to an existing dining reservation, especially an existing reservation for 4. You're talking another category of table, but you already know that! Since there are others in your group, perhaps have your daughter open/log in to an MDE account and reserve the table for 2 as close to the time as she can. Then when you get to the restaurant, ask if they can seat you close. Or perhaps even find another restaurant that has a table for 6. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

The cars at Sci fi dine-in seat 6. I would stop by earlier in the day and ask whether they can increase your ressie. The seating arrangements at this restaurant actually may work toward your advantage, though you might have to wait.

I know there is a way to book a second ressie which others can speak to… I’ve never had to do it. If you can do it, I suspect they will have no problem seating the 4 and 2 in a 6 seater car. Again, you might just have to wait a bit.

Can someone else book the second reservation? It won't let you because you're the lead for the first one.

Are you linked with your daughter in MDE? You can change the lead guest to be her or her wife and it should work. They would then control the ADR, though, in case of needing to cancel or reschedule.
