We are going to be visiting Disneyland in about a month and I had a couple of questions.

1. We are getting family passes from a friend that works at Disney. Can anyone tell me if I can take the passes to guest relations and pay to upgrade the passes from 1-day hopper tickets to 3-day hopper tickets? It seems like this would be a cheaper option that buying 2-day hoppers to use in addition to the free 1-day hoppers we are getting.

2. I read somewhere that I can get WOC fastpasses at the Grand Californian if we are staying there. Is that correct? If so, where do I go and how early?

3. Does anyone know of any free parking at Disney? I'm trying to contact AAA but haven't had any luck.

4. I have a 3 and 8 year old. Bring a double or single stroller? Both are Maclarens. We plan on leaving the park in the afternoon for naps/rest period.

Thanks!

1) the passes you are getting probably don't have any value. So you can't upgrade them.

2) I don't think you get WOC FPs for staying onsite anymore.

3) if you are staying onsite you have to pay for parking unless you are staying dvc on points. The free parking with aaa tickets is only for the day time parking lots.

4) one single stroller should be good since you are staying at the gch. Unless there are other circumstances, the 8 year old should have no problem walking.

Thank you for your response! I realized that I can't even get my kid's age right! Two kids - one 3 (4 in April) and the other is 6, not 8!

I'd probably let them switch off riding/walking. With the mid day break and you staying so close to the gates I would still go with the single.

If you booked the last AP special you get 1 WOC per person on the GCH reservation.

As a person who just took his DS3 and DD7 to the VGC, I would bring the double stroller. Anything you can do to save their legs will mean better behavior and happier kids, IMO.

Make sure you price out the option of one person using all of the free tickets and buying 3 day tickets for the others. It might be cheaper.

A 3 and 8 year old should be able to walk. Especially if you are paying attention to their needs and taking breaks.

Wow...

A 3 year old walking in the park all day long, even with breaks would very likely become overtired and grumpy. A stroller would definitely mitigate that.

I'd just take the single though, the 8 year old will likely want to be walking. If s/he gets tired, switch off. A double stroller is just too unwieldy in the park.

My kids are 4 & 6 and we are going to use a single stroller and have the kids take turns. There is no way either of my kids will last all day walking even with midday breaks.

There is a big difference between 6 and 8. For a 6 and a 3 year old, go double stroller. For an 8 and a 3 year old, go single and maybe double if the 8 year old has endurance issues. What I wouldn't do is two single strollers.

That's what we did with my DS3 and DD7. My DD7 loved to ride in the stroller. It saved her legs for the long 6 night vacation.

My 2nd oldest was 6.5 when we went to WDW. She traded out with one if the younger ones throughout the day (we had a double because the younger ones were 2 and 4). That was enough for her to save energy and her legs to make it through the day.
