Adding extra day to MYW Base tickets later

Hello all!
I've heard that you can make changes to your MYW tickets once you've started using them and just pay the difference but not sure if it applies to my situation. Usually, I just see examples of adding Park hopper or other options.

We are looking at purchasing 7 day MYW Base tickets using the Mousesavers link which will cost approx $622. The 8 day ticket is an additional $23 or so for a total of $645. The thing is we are not sure if we are going to use the 8th day as we get there at approx 4pm assuming flights are on time on Jan.5. We were thinking we might head to MGM that night to see the Osborne Family lights but it depends on how the kids are feeling after a day of travelling. If we did and then decided to purchase the extra day how much would it cost us? The difference on the Disney website between the 7 day and 8 day is only $7 in total (plus tax) - is this all we would have to pay? Would this be allowed?

Once you've used the first day of the ticket.. you'll pay the difference in gate price regardless of what you originally paid for the ticket.

So .. it should just be 7$ difference.

Perfect! That way we don't have to buy it up front in case we don't end up using it and if we do want the extra day we'll save a few bucks too!
