Adding Disney Dining

I tried to post this earlier, but can't find it (got an error msg), forgive me if I duplicated this!

I wanted to know if it was possible to ADD the dining package, say, at check in?
I'm asking because we're being given the trip by a wish organization.....we didn't make any ressies etc (staying at CR) on our own. We are supposed to be given spending money (for meals etc) before the trip, but I was thinking since this sounds like such a great deal our spending money might be better spent on the dining plan. (we are going after the free dining ends, checking in on Oct 8.)

My guess would be no, because of pre-payment, but again I do not know.

I'm sure someone out there knows.

I believe that I read somewhere that the Dining plan must be added at least 48 hours before you arrive. The rules are always changing, so I would call now and ask when the "last possible moment" to add the plan is.

I do not believe that you can add it once you arrive.

Thanks, I should know in the next week or so (30 days til we arrive) what more details are of the arrangements made for us.....I'm trying to do some figuring on what we would spend, to see if it's worth it to do or not.

my answer is "maybe" as it will depend on how your room/tickets were purchased... dining plan is only available when purchasing a a "package" and cannot be combined with a room discount... if the organization is obtaining your room with a discount rather than rack rate, the dining plan cannot be added...

that being said, it pays to ask... the worst they can say is no!

Please don't look a gift horse in the mouth! They probably have an arrangement with Disney for these "wishes". Make A Wish granted my son a wish in 1994. ( a computer) He beat the odds and now is now in perfect health. The bigger wish is the health of the person involved. Be happy with what these organizations do and best wishes on the return to good health of the recipient of the "trip".

I didn't mean to sound un-appreciative......I know they'll be providing $$ for dining and other expenses...I just have been hearing so much about the dining plan being so great, that I wondered if it would be the best use of the $$ we're given. We are truly grateful that her wish has been granted, and have explained to her and her littler sister what a great thing it is, how we could never afford a trip like what we're getting (so don't get used to it!), and how wonderful the wish granters are for what they and their organization do.
