Adding Dining to a room only?

Hello,
I got a special rate on a room only reservation at Coronado springs for June. Does anyone know if it is possible to add the dining plan on to rooms that have already been discounted? If so, does anyone know the stand alone rate per day/per person for the dining plan if I was to add?


I'm new to these boards but not so new to the wonderful world of Disney. It's so great to be able to ask these questions!

Maybe, to the OP - I'll get back to that in a moment - and no to the response above.

krys&cory, you CAN add the Dining Plan to your discounted room IF you turn it into a package by including tickets AND if the room-only rate has a comparable package rate available.

It's not considered 'stacking' discounts because the Dining Plan isn't a discount, or discounted.

Free dining can not be added to a room that you booked with a discount.

You Might be able to pay for the Dining plan to be added to your discounted room, if changes can still be made to that reservation (the code would have to still be available to use.) You would have to buy at least one park ticket per person booked in the room. It is not likely that you can add it if you used a code a while ago, but it is worth a call to reservations.

I just did this last week. I originally booked the room only with a 40% pin code discount. After the promotion for the discount expired I decided to add the dining plan, which as mentioned upthread, also required a minimum 1 day MYW ticket for each person on my reservation to make it a "package." Because the discount had already expired, the CM assisting put me on hold while he spoke to Disney "overbooking" in order to keep my discounted room in the package. The bottom line -- it can be done, but I don't know that there is any guarantee.
