I have seen conflicting stories about adding the DDP to existing tickets. I always thought that I had to purchase at least a 1 day ticket to add the DDP if I already have tickets. That is a total waste since tickets are $71 each! I think the DDP is a wonderful thing, but if you can't add it to existing tickets, where is the benefit? I guess we'll just pay out of pocket this trip and maybe add it to our next trip when we need new tickets.

i hear you, we're getting annual passes and still had to buy the 71$ ticket for each person inorder to get the dining plan. I think staying at the resort should be good enough to qualify you for the dining plan. It is wasting 71 per person! That does take away from the value of the dining plan, but we are still getting the plan. I hope there will be a way we can sell the tickets or something.

If you currently hold non-expiring tickets, then they would only become more valuable as time goes on. You could always hold them for a future visit (maybe one that you don't plan to use the DDP). Work out the numbers based on your eating habits and your current ADRs. Also look at the ages of the people in your party; will you have a child who will be the age of an "adult" for the DDP (I think it is over 10) during your next trip, but is under that age now? Then you could save using the DDP now and paying out of pocket later.

Either way, good luck and enjoy!

You do have to purchase at least a one day ticket to het the ddp.

You can get the DDP with AP without buying tickets. The DDP is part of a package. Disney does like to make money you know. Otherwise people would pay $70/night for a value, buy their tickets elsewhere and eat like kings for $38/night. Just like you cant do EMH or get DME unless youre staying on property.
