Adding Days Without Using Points?

Has anyone ever added days on to your stay without using points but paying outright for them. Just curious to see if this is possible. If not what is your experience with puchasing points from other DVC members. We are staying in a 2br at SSR, don't want to borrow points from next year and looking to stay one more day (a friday). Any thoughts sugestions. This is are first time staying at a DVC since becoming members. Thanks in advance for any help.

First of all, WELCOME to the DIS! YES, I just did this at Hilton Head Island resort. We are staying 5 nts in a studio, then 2 nights F, Sat, in a 1 BR unit. They gave me a discount of 25% I
believe. It is a nice option, instead of LOTS of pts on Fr,Sat,
I pay cash!

If you can get a cash room through DVC, you will be guaranteed not to move. Through CRO, you will not have the same guarantee though you can request to stay in the same unit.

Last year I added 2 nights (Fri & Sat) at the beginning of my stay with the 25% member discount to stretch points. This year I added an AP rate at 30% off to the end of my stay at OKW, a Friday night. Since it's our last night after Sunday to Thursday on points I think the chances are good we will not have to move.

Just curious - anyone know the cash cost of a 2BR at OKW per night?

We're hoping to go in Nov. & wanted to save on some weekend costs. Thought we'd move, but now I'm wondering if this would be a better option.

The rack rate is $479 for that time per night. You may be able to get up to 25% or 30% off from that.

Thanks - I'm assuming there is tax added on to that cost also , correct?

Sometimes the discount doesn't become available until you get closer to the travel date. Just book the room anyway and keep checking for the discount rate. They'll let you switch. You don't pay in advance.

Be sure to pay for the WEEKEND nights-- not the weekdays-- but I guess you probably figured that out.
