Adding days to your prepurchased tickets

Hey Everybody! New to me question. I will be going in May with some new family members.
One person is not sure they are going to like this very much and frankly I have some concern about
them as well. Half of us have annual passes. So I'll be buying 3 additional park hopper passes.
I thought I might get a 7 day ticket for the person I know will want to go all the time and only a 3 or 4 day ticket
for the 2 that may want to just sit by the pool more. IF they get there and decide they love it
will Disney add onto the current tickets at the discounted rate or will it be just like buying 3 days with out the
other counting. Make sense? Again 1/2 of us are annual pass holders and DVC. Not sure if that would
make a difference or not.

As long as they add the days by day 3 or day 4, they're fine. If they add the days after their entitlement has expired it would be like buying a new ticket

This has been standard procedure for years and years.

You can add on more days at the current discounted rate as long as the ticket isn’t expired/used up, typically this meant going to guest services but you can do it yourself now on MDX. It was remarkably easy when I did it in the app on our recent Jan trip. We hadn’t planned to do parks on our arrival day, but changed our minds that morning due to some scheduling issues(husband had to leave early for a work meeting).
Long story short- added on 1 day to the front of my 3day hopper, also changed the dates for his ticket to start one day earlier (just had to pay ~$10 difference since the new start date had a higher base rate). It took probably 3 minutes to do everything, very easy!

*Also, I always buy my tickets from undercover tourist, they were already linked in MDX and I had no problem adding/switching dates even though they weren’t an original Disney purchase fwiw
