Adding days to UT Tickets

I made a huge mistake and now I am beginning to panic a little bit. I recently (about one month ago) bought UT tickets for our May trip. We will be there from May 10-17 and I purchased 6 day park hoppers (when I should have bought 7 day). I believe that in the past I would have been able to add a day to our tickets at the park and just pay the difference between the 6 day Park hopper and 7 day Park hopper. Is this still the case? I really don't want to have to pay a total $300 for a separate one day ticket for each of us (which costs $99 each).

Certainly have been conflicting stories past couple weeks, but I would say yes you can.

Use the tickets to go into a theme park at least one time, then upgrade the tickets, as per tradition.
The reports to the contrary appear to have been odd isolated situations.

On closer examination, it looks like "business as usual" in the ticket upgrade department.

After using the tickets at least one time, expect to be able to add a day
to your tickets for about $11, or so, per day, per ticket.

No need to worry. Upgrades are still permitted. There was a post on another thread with an email from Disney confirming that. You just need to be insistant with the CM helping you if they don't get the price right but that is an old issue. For some reason, when they scan your ticket, if they don't do it the right way, the value that comes up is the price that UT paid to Disney for the ticket. This happened to me last week, trying to go from 5 day to 6 day. She said it would be $54 per ticket but when I insisted that was wrong, she got another CM to help and he got it correct ($10.69 with tax).

What a relief! Thank you so much!

Just so that I know, how should I calculate how much it should cost? Is it based on their current gate prices? Their seven day park hopper price less the price of of their six day park hopper?

Yes. The difference comes to 10 + tax = $10.65. Now, you have to do your part, too. The tickets you are upgrading MUST be used to enter a theme park first before you do your upgrade. That is the Disney policy by which your original tickets are price-bridged to current gate price (since your original tickets were purchased at less than gate price).
