Adding days to park hopper

I bought a 9 day park hopper from undercover tourist today, if we decide once we are there to make it a 10 day can I add that day at the park? We are there for 10 days total but are not sure we will go into the park the first day. Do we have to use it first to add on the day?

If you use it first, then adding a day will cost you $10.65. If you don't use it first, it will cost much much more.
