Adding days onto an existing reservation

Currently waiting for my new contract to show in my DVC account and the accompanying points. But my booking window for the dates that I want has come and gone. Now the resort we are looking at is booking up. Nearly no availability right now at BLT for Presidents weekend but the weekend before is looking good still.

Here's my plan: I've used the points that I do have available to book the increasingly hard to get dates and once my points are loaded from the new contract, I plan to add on to the current reservation the days that still look wide open. My contracts have the same use year and are deeded the same so the points should all be treated as one large bank.

Is adding days onto a reservation possible or will I end up with two reservations? Logically it should work the way that I think it does but I want to make sure there are no flaws in my logic.

As long as there's availability, you can add nights to your reservation. You can do it either of two ways. You can book the additional nights(s) online as a new reservation and then call member services to merge the reservations. Or you can call member services and have them add the night(s) to your existing reservation. The first way ensures that you have the nights you want. The second way eliminates a step.

I would do it exactly the same way - book the nights that seem to be filling up now (as many as I could) and then the rest as soon as the points are available. As Marionette says, MS can combine the reservations into one for you as long a they are for the same booking category and booked from the same membership. Hope your points show up soon.

Thanks for your help. I had booked nights I was worried about last night, and this morning saw the new contract pop up. Once the points load I'll complete my reservation.
