Adding concierge rooms at AKL

Do you guys think once the kidani building is complete, DVC will increase the number of concierge rooms available in Jambo house?

Nope, not going to happen. They only have the five two bedrooms that are Concierge now because they happen to be on the same floor as the Concierge lounge.

DVC really can't add conceirge at Jambo. I think it is more likely that DVC will add a new concierge lounge at Kidani by eliminating some units. Even this, however, may be difficult -- if not impossible -- to do. -- Suzanne

I agree. Concierge guests did not prefer those 6 floor rooms, so they gave them to DVC because we will fill them no problem. Now the concierge guests stay on other floors and have access to the lounge. They could not rightfully have DVC guests on the 6th floor and deny them access, so that is why we have only 10 units available.

Im thinking we did them a bigger favor than they did us This was a negotiation not decision to offer members concierge.

Thousands of members fighting for 10 rooms is not my idea of magical.

I stayed concierge at AKL before the conversion. I requested 6th floor then but the CM who emailed me back told me that he would note it but there was a good chance we wouldn't get it. So although I know some people claim guests didn't like those rooms, I think that's incorrect. There was one individual who posted a lot about concierge levels some years back, and I always suspected she was misleading people purposely. Kept those rooms for her clients.

Anyway, having had a fifth floor club level room and now a 6th floor villa, I much prefer the 6th. The club level rooms on the 5th and I suspect now on the 4th are close to the lobby to make it relatively convenient to access the lounge. Hence the views of the animals are not the greatest. They're not from the 6th either but the convenience to the lounge on the 6th is wonderful. Give me the 6th any day.

Weren't the old 6th floor concierge rooms at AKL the smoking rooms available for concierge? We did concierge at AKL several years ago and we were on the 5th floor savanna view.

As I recall the poolview rooms on the 6th were the smoking optional rooms.

From a DVC standpoint, that would be good since the extremely limited number of DVC concierge rooms at Jambo house is not very practical for bookings.

There will not be anymore Concierge Level rooms in Kidani Village. The only change of additional Concierge Level rooms will be in the Contemporary.
