I luckily have been blessed with the things that I have had in my life. I was so lucky enough to go to WDW a few times a year and stay at beautiful deluxe hotels there, and now as an RN I can't afford to stay there, but I would like to give back.

I have a friend who had a hard life as well, her mom had her at 15 and she did well with her life with the little that she had. She has a nice job with the government, and is married with 3 kids.

I wanted to give her just a little one day family trip, it's only $629 for 2 nights at pop century resort, and that includes a 1 day ticket for herself, husband 7 year old, and of course the 2 and infant are free, plus a meal.

I want to take her when I go in may, but hopefully she and her husband will agree.

I can't wait to see her!

I am gonna be 30 this year, and I remember her 15th birthday party, and when I saw her mom, I thought "wow she is so pretty and young looking", and I had no idea she was 30!

I want to add her, but I wonder how I can make it into a gift when I book? I guess I would have to call WDW resort and ask.......

anyone has ever done that here? give a little vacation as a gift to a good friend?

I think that is a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do. :wizard: I hope they agree and take the gift with the loving manner in which you are intending it.

I am sure that Disney can make it happen for you. :wizard:

I am a single mom and how I try to give back is by inviting other single moms to join us - we are heading to Disney in 20 days. I have a timeshare with 3 bed/3 bath booked so I invited another mom who really wanted to take her daughter to Disney with us. I am not charging anything to her for the accomodation because it is not costing me any extra to have them join us. Up here in Canada, we have a rewards program where you can get Disney tickets for free so her and her mom had collected enough rewards so that they have 7 day Disney base tickets and 1 day SeaWorld tickets for free.

The total hard cost of the vacation is $1,024 for her with the biggest cost being the flights at $441 each. Her ex took her daughter to Disneyland last year and spent $5,000 on the trip so she never thought it could be affordable for her to take her daughter to Disneyworld until I was able to help her see how doable it is.

I am also going to Disney in November with another single mom whose ex is like mine and doesn't pay child support and her dream has been to actually stay at Disney so we are booked at All Stars Music and splitting all the costs. If they offer the free dining then we will change to a package deal and I will pick up the cost of buying Disney tickets required for the package that we will use another time. She too is working on getting her Disney tickets for free through our rewards program. I am estimating the cost of that trip to be about $1,100 each unless we do the free dining then my cost will be $1,400 and hers will be $1,100 but I will have tickets to use for other trips.

It is always nice to share the magic and help other experience Disney.:wizard:

I hope everything works out perfectly for you. What a wonderful idea!:thumbsup2

We are taking a newly single mom friend of mine and her will be two year old DD when we go in December. Not only has she never been to Disney, she's never been in an airplane! We're staying eight days at the Poly, club level with a theme park view!! She's soooo excited, but she has no idea what they're in store for on this trip! Can't wait to see the parks throught their eyes.

We just added them on our reservations (we're a GG and have linked reservations) so any incidentals are sent straight to my bill. I'm sure Disney can tell you more about "gifting" the trip.

:thumbsup2I would love to one day be able to bestow this generosity on someone.

One day, eight days--pop, poly--it doesn't matter.

You guys are very awesome people to do this for someone else.

I'm sure that it feels good to give back.

about half an hour ago, I talked to my friend and she is "in"! I'm so happy that I will get to hang out with her, and go to disney.

It will be probably be in the summer as she has a child in school, and one toddler and one infant, so the infant is only 4 weeks old right now, so by the summer she will be a couple of months that she could stay at a relatives house.

anyways, I am very happy :)

Amen to that, sister!! Of course, I could always do a few more days when we're at Disney. :rolleyes1;)

I am so glad she is "in" - that is totally awesome - I love when things work out!:yay:

:hippie: so happy, now we are definitely going, and the rooms are booked, and next to each other, and I am just extatic about going.

:)

we are all staying at Pop Century resort in WDW. And the hotel looks awesome :)
and we are getting: 2 nights hotel/meal plan/tickets 1 day for $649.79/per family.

Since this is a gift from me to her, I am paying for both of our families to join, so I just told her that it is two meals per day, so plan on bringing bagels & juices for breakfast, and of course her little items that she may need like medicine for headaches, a little extra money for souveneirs and such. 'cuz I really don't want to be paying more than $649 for her family.

This is a gift for her because she was a very good friend to me while I was a kid.

I honestly, I don't know how I survived my early teens and teen years. I was so scrawny looking, my eyebrows were such a mess. My mom did not drive, and we do not live close to anything.... so I never was into any school activities, and the only way I went anywhere was if someone picked me up. And my friend was always there for me, and when her mom couldn't do it, she would always find someone to pick me up so I could go to her birthday parties. I have pictures of us in middle school when we went to universal studios for our middle school trip, and I just can't wait to see her this summer.

By no means am I a rich person, I am only an RN working part time, with Disney dreams:cloud9:

That is totally awesome and a great deal! I am so glad that you had such a good friend to help you through your teen years. It is so nice that you can be in a place to help her make her Disney dreams come true too. I hope you all have the best Disney vacation ever with tonnes of Pixie Dust.:wizard:
