I'm at the 90 day window on Tuesday for our ADR's
at the moment there is 4 of us going but DS has not decided yet if he will go or not
should I book for him now and cancel if he is not with us or just add him later if he decides to come
how easy is it to change from a table of 4 to 5
thanks for anyhelp

Hi Jackie...It's me again...

Start with the 5...It is more difficult to add especially with the number of 5...5 changes the size table you need....If you try to add one more later on they will make you start over again...You will have to find a new reservation for 5 then cancel the one for 4.

I can tell you it's not a problem at all to walk up with one or two more people than your ADR is good for. We had a whole week of ADRs' to really primo places during Free Dining, no less for a party of 5. My in-laws decided to join us at the last possible minute. I was in complete tailspin panic mode trying to call for new ADRs, and got nowhere fast with them.

Even calling the hostess stand at the restaurant the day of didn't help - - they weren't able to say yes or no, but to call and make a new ADR on the spot. On our first night, we just told the IL's to be prepared to walk to a nearby CS if they were turned away for the TS we'd booked and went in hopeful. It was absolutely no problem to add them on the spot. (to give you an idea: we asked and they were happy to do it. Then, the next person behind me asked if they had any availability for a walk up table for 4 and they were told flatly no.)

I think if you are in the computer for dinner, it's not a problem to change. However, if you are walking up, you'll almost 100% be told nothing is available.

Good luck - we did this same thing all week long and never once had an issue, or an attitude or even an extra wait.

Thanks for the info

not to sure if i'll be able to book him as he is not on the room resverion yet

It won't matter that your DS isn't on the room ressie because you don't need to be staying onsite to book ADR's. ;)

However, a few years ago, I tried to add 2 people to some of my ADR's about a month out from our dining date - I was not successful at all. I had to cancel our original ADR's and make new ones. :guilty: It seems easier to just make an ADR and either turn up at the restaurant with 1 extra or 1 less body in your party. :goodvibes

Personally I would book 5. I find that it is easier to show up with one less than it is to show up with one more -- especially during free dining.

I would book the 5. If you were a 3 going to a 4 top it wouldnt really be an issue as 90% of the time you have the extra seat, but a 5 means you need the bigger table. Much easier to show up with less, than more.
