adding a package to room only ressies ?

I like the 40% deluxe room only ressie but due to my new job starting later then expected I can't pay for the package deal until after the deadline (45 days out).

Can I get the room only now and then add dining and tickets closer to my date when I have the money? I know that when I do that I will have to have all the money right then to pay in full but I want to keep my discount and my room I have booked now. Is that possible?

Yes. Just remember that when you convert to a package, they'll refund your initial deposit and then charge you $200 for the package deposit. I did the same thing recently, my confirmation number remained the same and the room deposit was credited to my Visa card in a couple of days. Also, dining plans can be added up to 72 hours before your arrival.

So maybe I'm misunderstanding what you said, but now I'm confused. I thought that if you made a room only reservation with a pin, that is was just that. A room only reservation. Are you saying that I could book my room only reservation (at 40% off with a PIN code), and then later add dining and tickets to it to make it a package and still retain that 40% off of my room ? I didn't know you could do that. If you CAN do that, how would I determine how much my tickets and dining would be ? Thanks so much in advance for any help. I really appreciate everyone on these boards. I learn something new every day !

Be careful of your PIN (or promo code) expiration (book by) date. To make this a package a room only res is usually cancelled, the one night deposit refunded, then it's re-booked as a package with full payment due if it's within 45 days. Guest Services might have to do this if there is no more room inventory in the PIN code or promo allotment or the book by date has past. A normal res CM might not know how to do it.
