Adding a night to reservation after fd promo ends today

I booked our FD pkg. at CSR, but at a later date decided to add another night to the end of the stay. CSR was not available, so I used an online travel site with availability.

However, I'd like to book that last night with Disney if something opens up. If something should become available will Disney just add the day to my existing reservation, or will it be a separate reservation? Would FD be applicable even though today is the last day to book for FD?

I did get a nice discount for the last day, but would love to avoid checking back in and all new magic bands.

If the room type you have booked becomes available under FD, you can add it to your existing package and have FD for that night. If it's not available under the FD promo, it would be a separate RO reservation, which would require you to check out/check back in that last day and you would not have FD for that last night. If you book the same room type as the package, you can have the two reservations linked with a request to keep the same room; however, that's when both reservations are booked through Disney, so I'm not sure how (or if) it would work when booking that extra night through a different company. Even though FD expired today, you can still call and check availability. You will most likely have to speak with someone in guest services as regular CRO CMs don't usually have access to expired promos, but guest services will be able to check availability and add that night to your existing package should that night be available.
