Every time we've been to WDW we do the entire package deal - room, tickets, dining. Now I know that everyone in a room has to be on the same plan. But now my son-in-laws mother would like to join us... wait for it... for just a few days. Our trip is a full week at OKW. We will have room (we're booked in a 2bed villa) but I'm pretty sure she can't just be added in for a few days. Any ideas on how to handle this? I'm not sure what to do! (BTW I do enjoy her company, she wouldn't be a pain she'd really hang with her kids)

You can add her at check-in. The only issue with that is she can't take Magical Express until she is added to the reservation. If she arriving after you, that isn't a problem. Just add her at check-in and then call MDE or go to the concierge desk and ask them to set up DME for her. If she arrives at the same time, she would have to find alternate transportation to the resort from MCO - lyft/uber/shuttle/private car service. If you would like to make FP+ for her so she can ride at the same time as everyone else, purchase her tickets separately and link them to her profile either in your MDE or in hers (if they are in her MDE, make sure you are linked as Friends and Family so you can select her FP+ when you select everyone else's). She would, of course, have to pay OOP for her meals.

We have gone through this before with my grown daughter. She has visited for a few days while we are at WDW. The first 2 times we just went to the front desk and told them she would be visiting for a few days, and to charge us as needed. They never did charge us, and one CM even told me to just add her as a day guest and she wouldn't be charged. Some pixie dust for us once. :)
For our trip this March, my daughter is going to visit again, but this time for 5 days of our 8 day trip. We love having her with us and she gets a break from the cold northern winters. However, this time she decided to set it up with our TA. She is on our flight down and is registered as a guest in our room too. She is on our registration so she can have adr's and fp's set up with us. She just has her flight back home on a different date than us. We always use ME so that's a big help for her. Before, she had to set up a town car service to and from. She also had different fp times, if we couldn't coordinate. This way is better, but more expensive for her. She feels more comfortable being a registered guest than just a visitor for a few days (on the registration).
Hope this helped and wasn't too confusing. I'd be glad to answer any specific questions.

Just an FYI, she does not have to be registered in your room to have ADRs and FP+ set up with you. You can reserve ADRs for as many people as you'd like and a guest registered at a WDW resort can make FP+ for anyone linked in MDE through Friends and Family with valid ticket media at the 60 day mark regardless of whether or not those Friends and Family are registered guests at a WDW resort.

Good to know all these tips. I'll talk to her and see if she's comfortable arriving alone, and paying oop for meals. I think it might be awkward all of us on the mp but I think it could work. I also like the "day guest" idea. This just might work! (thank heaven OKW has lots of sleeping space!)

Yes, you are right! I forgot that we got her linked through friends and family before, and got her adr's and fp's. Thanks for the reminder cause my memory is not that good:)

Update: So now she may not come. The price for the trip included meals, tickets etc. Now when you break all that out and having to pay oop she's re-thinking. (plus she forgot to add airfare!)

For our trip last November, my daughter and I had a package that included dining and tickets, but my granddaughter decided to come along. I called Disney and added her as a guest and also added her to the ME, because she flew to MCO with my daughter. She flew home a day ahead of my daughter, using ME again. We shared our dining credits (both table service and quick service) with her and cut one table service meal from our schedule - only had to pay oop for 4 individual table service meals and 3 quick service (using our snack credits wisely)

I know the OP has resolved the issue now, BUT, I was just on the Disney website checking my adr's that I added our daughter to. Now, I AM NOT on the reservations but my daughter and husband are. Now I have to call Disney (not my favorite thing, LOL), and get this fixed up. Grrrrr…..

it doesn't matter who or if there are listed guests as long as you have a reservation for the correct number of people.
