Adding a Family Member to our existing contract

I hope this isn't repetitive. We are trying to add our son to our existing contract, before we add on points. I keep running into roadblocks. Has anyone easily added a family member? Any tips?

Yes, many owners have done it, including us very recently. We used a title transfer company, but you can do it yourself following the instructions in this thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/s...xisting-contract-gratuitous-transfer.3701707/. The only change is that you no longer need to submit it to DVC for ROFR at the beginning - if it’s a gratuitous transfer, you simply need to create and file the new deed and then notify DVC.

What sort of roadblocks?

PS you need to be sure you’ve considered all possible negative consequences. DVC is an asset and could therefore be affected by or involved in divorce, bankruptcy, applications for college financial aid, etc.
