Adding a extra day

I have 4 day tickets with fast passes for each day. Depending on what time we arrive i may or may not go to the parks the first day. If we go to the parks on the first day should i upgrade my tickets before or after i use them? if i upgrade my tickets after will it mess up my fast passes for the other 4 days. I will have a 3 day ticket left but 4 days with fast passes. Will they cancel one of my day with fast passes? I hope this makes sense.

I haven't seen a definitive report about using a ticket early and what happens to the extra FP+.

But, when it comes to upgrading before or after you use the ticket, it really depends on where you purchased the ticket. If it was discounted or part of a package, it will save you money to use the ticket first.

You'll have up to a day and a 1/2 to upgrade and add on the additional ticket entitlement. If you wait beyond that time, you'll lose your last day of FPs.

You can even call now and they can add the extra day. There won't be an additional fee.

I did this last month. We decided to add an extra day on the day we arrived. I went to MK guest services and added a day. It did not impact my FP for the rest of the days, just didn't have any for that first day (but made same-day FP when we got into park). Ours were part of a package, no extra fees. I think it cost maybe $50 total to add another day onto the five of us.

You could call and change them now. After the paid in full date, there is a change fee, but it's typically waived if the price increases. In the last two weeks before your arrival, there may be a $15 expedite fee.
