Adding a Discount or Promotion After You've Already Booked

Ok, so we're debating making our reservations as soon as they release the 2011 rates vs. waiting till we find the best promotion for when we want to stay. Does anyone know that if I book in August and then a promotion comes out, if I call them, will they add the promotion? (For example, free dining or discount room rate)

I have done it, a couple of times. One time, the first CM I got, said they couldn't do it. I hung up and dialed again, and they added the code just fine.

When I called to add free dining, the first CM said sure, and I never got a confirmation email. Worried, I called again and they could see where the process was started but not completed. That time I got a confirmation email pretty quick.

So, you should be able to do it. Just call until someone will do it for you, and make sure you get your confirmation!

I've done it several times. As soon as you see that the special offer/promo is released, call Disney Travel and ask that they modify your reservation to reflect the new promo. There are a limited number of rooms set aside for the promotions. That's why it's important to call them immediately.

I've done it twice now with my current reservation. I originally booked with no discounts, then when the Kids stay & Play free promo came out I changed to that promo, then when the free dining came out I switched to that promo. My reservation number never changed with either switch.
