adding a day with a seperate Orbitz reservation

So I booked a stay at BWV through Orbitz and want to add a day to the beginning of our stay. I called Orbitz and they say you need to cancel and rebook. Frankly I don't want to cancel and recharge the entire amount on my card and have to wait for the refund on the original reservation.

The Orbitz site is showing the same category of villa available (studio/standard) for the 1 night. My question is if I book this as a1 day reservation can I link it on MDE with my other 5 days and what are the chances we won't have to change rooms after the first night? I know there is no guarentee but has anyone experienced this and was able to ask at check in to stay in the same room?

We added the prior Sunday to our Monday thru Thursday reservation several years ago at WL. We didn't do through Orbitz, but had booked directly through the Disney website. We simply had two reservation numbers. Our Sunday reservation was actually a standard view (only thing available) and the other reservation was courtyard view. We fully expected to have to change rooms on Monday. When we checked in on Sunday, they actually gave us the courtyard view and allowed us to keep the same room. I'm pretty sure I had to go down to the desk on Monday morning and "check-in" again, but it was no problem.

I can't say they will let you keep the same room, but I am sure they will if they can. We usually go at the slower times of the year, so that may have worked in our favor. Also this was before MDE, so we didn't have any way to link the reservations. I just did online check-in for both rooms.
