I currently have 5 day park hoppers but we just decided to add a day to our trip. I know on the website you can only purchase a 5 day ticket but is there any way to add a day when we get there? We've been able to do this at WDW in the past so wondering if it's possible at DL. Thanks!

Yes, it's possible, but not cheap. DLR stopped selling anything longer than a 5 day ticket (domestically, anyway) years ago, so the only way to add on to your tickets would be to buy 1 day tickets or to upgrade to APs.

Thanks @theluckyrabbit ! I think we'll still extend by a day but spend arrival day doing a character meal and some shopping. We looked into getting the Premier Passport since we have a WDW trip this year also, but we can get a DVC discount on a WDW AP for so much cheaper that it just doesn't make sense. Appreciate the answer :)

They used to allow you to do this for a nominal fee - back when they had 6 day park hoppers you could add a 7th day for like $15 each - but things changed a lot when they moved to the 5 day maximum ticket, partially due to people selling longer length park hoppers. Now though the picture taking has reduced that activity from what I understand but the rules remain firmly in place. It is great that you can add a character meal on your first day as that does extend the magic. We always do some shopping and have dinner in DTD on our arrival day and as much as I'd love to have a longer park hopper, as we often stay for 8 nights, I do find being forced to that break days away from the park makes it a better overall experience in the end.

Hope you have a great trip.

@sherilaine That's how we've done it at WDW. We had a snow storm keep us there for an extra couple of days (awful I know 🤣 ) and we added the days to our ticket for dollars since we had been there for so long already. Bummer that we can't do this at DL but we're coming from the East Coast so we'll use our arrival day as a slower day and get the kids to bed early. We definitely would have hit the parks for a few hours if we could do it for a decent price. Not worth it at one day prices though!

You best best when traveling from the East Coast is to stay up later your first night to get adjusted to West Coast time. Last thing you want is you kids to be wide awake at 4a if they normally get up say 7a in the East.

2 years ago we arrived on a Fri and did not go to the parks until Sun afternoon so we started with a Character Breakfast outside the park on Sat.
