Adding a day to park tickets at guest services

I purchased some tickets through UT when they were running a buy 4, get 3 free promotion. I want to add one day to these tickets and will do that in person in January in advance of the tickets being used in May.

Do the tickets need to be linked to each family member in MDE (they are all on my account) before I go to guest services to add the additional day?

You can upgrade the hard plastic tickets (if that's what you have,) as-is.
If your tickets only exist in your MDE account, they can be upgraded all under your name, if you like. (A guest can have as many tickets as they like in MDE)
-Or-
You can distribute the tickets to other members of your group before upgrading, if you like.
It doesn't really matter, as even after the tickets are upgraded, no matter in whose account they are listed, they can still be transferred (again and again) up until they are first used to enter a park.

BTW, you can do the upgrade at any ticket booth as well as at Guest Relations.

Then, you can choose to upgrade via any of the ways I mentioned.
You can link them to MDX... or not.

We are planning on dong the same thing tomorrow.

We have four day tickets from UCT that we are using for the first time to enter a park on Sunday. We are adding four days to each ticket. When we arrive tomorrow, we plan on adding the days by stopping at guest services at Disney Springs. I have calculated out the expected cost, and I assuming that we will not have any issues with the CM's "bridging" the tickets. We are planning to this at DS so we do not lose any time at the parks.

Make sure you calculated the cost correctly. If you purchased tickets from UT that don’t have an expiration date, they aren’t worth the current gate price; they’re only with the price from before the expiration policy change and price increase.

However, I've found that with a bit of polite "Hmm, I calculated a different price . . . . . . . are you sure that's the price? . . . . Can you check with someone higher up just to be sure? . . . . . ." you have a chance of getting a full bridge to the current gate price, even though the official policy says otherwise. I've succeeded in that, precisely at Disney Springs, as have a couple others I know.
I would recommend doing the calculation both ways, so you can be prepared for what number(s) to expect to be quoted.

Thanks. They were purchased in March, and have an expiration date in 2018, so I think we are good there. I have calculated the expected cost to be the difference between the current gate price of 4 day tickets and 8 day tickets.
