Adding a day to Costco tickets

A few of us asked this in the Costco ticket thread and it might be getting lost, or maybe it's just unknown still. I just figured I'd ask here in case.

Has anyone been able to add a day to their Costco tickets and if so what was the cost? We are talking my parents in November and we are either going to add a day to their tickets or go to Knott's for the day, or maybe both if we have enough time.

I posted this in the main Costco ticket thread on May 22, but it may have gotten lost in the other discussions:

Tthere is now a "change your Theme Park Tickets" option in the "My Disneyland" section of the website (so apparently you can self-service to add days, which is new to me). Going through the steps in that process, it would convert the Costco special ticket back to a standard 4-day ticket (expiring in 13 days) and charge $149 for the "Park Hopper" and $128 for lightning lane for a total additional cost of $277:

I'm not sure you would get a different outcome going to a ticket booth to upgrade.

wow I was wondering about this too...can you just add a day to them after you make your reservations? If it was for a day or two later? Say we have tickets for Mon-Wed and we want to add on a Saturday? thanks!

On Reddit, some users have claimed they were able to make changes to their tickets at the DLR ticket booths and received full $450 credit towards a new ticket (including MK). I have no idea how true this is, but you may want to inquire at a ticket booth if it’s confident for you.

Thank you for the quick answer! I would like to get everything set up before we go in December...Have thought about doing a day at Universal but worried about the cost of a taxi or something there and back!

For Universal, take the Metro 460 bus (picks up at the DLR pick up and drop off area) to its terminus (6th/Los Angeles), then walk (5-10 min) to the B subway line. Busses run almost 24/7 in high frequency, and it’ll cost you less than $10pp round trip.

This is us too. We would love to get it all sorted before we go.

I just went to look at our tickets on a computer instead of on my phone and it won't let me change it to a 4 day ticket there either. I wonder why it is letting some people. Not that I would lay that much to add a day.

I am shocked at the price! I am trying to get it all figured before I make the reservations...

To add a day to a ticket, Disneyland will almost always apply the price you paid to the cost of the ticket you are upgrading to. So you in effect lose any discount you got when you made the purchase. The Costco deal is an amazing and basically gives you LLMP ($96 value) & Hopping ($90 value) for $5 after you apply the $30 dining credit.

The question that seems to be unknown is if they will apply the $450 to the value of a 4-day single day, no LLMP ticket. If this is possible, the key is to upgrade at the end of your last day (before mid-night) so you get use of LLMP & hopping. You would then only pay $25 (or $55 if they deduct the $30 dining credit). Someone needs go to the ticket booth and ask, even if they have no intention of upgrading.
