adding a day before "official" resort stay

Just added a day before my "official" trip but a different resort than the rest of the stay and we aren't getting to the new resort before 11:30 p.m in just 2 weeks. Will my magic band for the other resort open the door at the recently added resort? I did the online check in for the new resort, not really wanting to stop by the desk just would rather get a text and go straight to the room.

My option for getting a new magic band was that they would give it to you at the desk.

Any magic band linked to your Disney online account, even one from a trip a few years ago, will work for the doors, charging to your room, FP, and entry at the tapstyles.

The bands can be iffy on room doors, for some reason (last winter our CSR bands from our first night didn't work on the door at Pop for the rest of the trip - apparently the front desk can fix it, but we never bothered). If you have the MDE app you can open the door with that, though, if the band doesn't work.
