I'm passed the 45 day mark for my January trip (yippie!!!) and now they've come out with codes for that time period. Anyone know if I have to pay the $100 cancellation fee to apply a new code to a package w/in the 45 day period? (of course, this is assuming the new code is better...they seemed to have a pretty good deal when i originally made our ressies....)

Thanks!

Nope, there will be no fee. They will modify your exsisting ressie.

According to mousesavers, there is a $50 fee.

http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#roomonly

* When booking through WDTC, even a "room only" reservation is considered a "Basic Plan" package (because Disney will add on some kind of small "extra" such as mini-golf tickets) and is subject to the rules for packages:
* You must pay a $200 deposit ($100 for Disney Club members) within 14 days of reserving your package.
* Final payment of the entire remainder is due 45 days prior to check-in (21 days for Disney Club members). You have to pay in full right away if you are booking less than 45 days in advance (21 days for Disney Club members).
* You can change or cancel your reservation without penalty up until 45 days in advance (5 days for Disney Club members). From 6 to 44 days in advance, there is a cancellation fee of $100 (no fee for Disney Club members). If you cancel 5 days or less in advance, you pay a $200 penalty ($100 for Disney Club members).
<b> *Any changes that result in a rate change, such as applying a discount code, reducing number of days and/or changing to a differently-priced resort, made 45 days or less prior to arrival (5 days for Disney Club members), are subject to a $50 fee.</b>
*Beware - WDTC usually adds nonrefundable travel insurance to your package by default. If you don't want it, tell them while you are making the reservation. Once you hang up, it's too late. You can add the insurance later if you wish, up until your final payment is due.
*Airfare added to your reservation is also nonrefundable. It's hardly ever a good deal, either. I strongly advise booking airfare separately. Visit the "Getting There" page for hints on how to save on airfare!

dj2,
Did you book room only thru CRO? If it is a package thru WDTC with free mini golf tickets or WWoS pass then you might run into a problem switching without a fee.
If your reservation has 12 numbers then it is CRO. And with CRO changes are easier.
Just give them a call and see what they say.
Good luck getting a better rate.

We're staying 1 night at POR on 1/4, then 7 nights with the Gold Plan at POR - all booked through WDTC. Originally booked the first night at rack rate, then changed to AAA rate. Then in mid-Nov we got an email code for POR that we applied to just the first night (why oh why did I get my heart set on the Gold Plan instead of Silver where we could have *used* these codes!!!). Because our travel agent was away, she didn't get to try the code until 11/25 - 40 days from our arrival. We did not get penalized. It's worth a shot anyway!! Good luck:D

I called and gave her the code. She said it came out to a higher price than what we were paying, so i guess the deal available in late august (or was it early september?) was better than the current dream maker code listed on mousesavers.

It gets confusing because ultimate hopper passes are involved, something i've never done before, but it actually came out to the SAME price to include them with the room as it would have to have used the AAA room rate and bought AAA hopper passes.

I was told they would have applied the new code w/o penalty, and that i'd have a credit balance when i arrived (if the rate had been less), but part of me still wonders if it was higher because it automatically incorporated the $100 penalty.

I don't really care... I'M GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!!!
