I have had my reservations for a long time. My 2 SILs are staying offsite and I'm helping book them fps and line things up with what we have. Even though they show up in my MDE, if I try to book something close to my reservation, it won't let me. It says I have a reservation and do I want to cancel. Yesterday, I tried to get Rainforest Cafe for 8 and it came up 8:30 am. I didn't want it that early, so I booked the 6 of us at 9:30, and when I checked, 9:30 was available for a party of 2 at 9:30 also, but it wouldn't let me book it. I found reservations within an hour of another and it still wouldn't let me book. I have some fairly hard to get ressies( CRT, BOG, and if one of them pops up, I'm not going to be able to book it unless I have the good fortune to find it during Disney Dining hours.
Is there anything I can do? My SIL tried to book the hour apart one herself, and I ended up calling to get it done.

The system will not let you double book. You will have to call. If you call you may be able to add them to your current reservation. I think the one you will have trouble with is CRT.

Can't you just book it under their name if you see it? You would have to call to have it added to your reservation, but even if they are offsite, as long as you are within the 180 days, they should be able to book dining as well.

Yes, I have tried CRT and it's a no go, but I managed to get them a Park Fare at almost the same time, so they should be happy. I did have to book it via phone, because online wouldn't let it happen. I have not been able to add them to LTT either, or BOG.

I wish; it doesn't give me that option. It just says I already have reservations at that time, do I wish to cancel them. I will not do anything near my CRT time for fear it will disappear, then I'll be very unhappy indeed.

For Rainforest Cafe, have you considered joining the Landry Select Club? It costs $25 to join, but you get a $25 gift certificate, so it's a wash. That includes priority seating so you don't really need an ADR (athough, I don't know if there is a party size limit).

Some folks have also said that you can try calling Rainforest Cafe directly and see if they have additional ADR options available.

Definitely this! They do not give all of their available reservations to Disney. I wanted to eat there last month at DTD and called them at 4 p.m. and they told me they had pretty much open availability all night long. I took a 8 p.m. reservation because that is what I was looking for. When we got there, they were BUSY and for reference, the people that checked in behind us (they were a party of 6 and we were a party of 8) was seated at a table next to us about an hour later.

Thank you! We actually joined but do you have to renew?

I don't think there is a 'renewal' process. As far as I know, once you've joined, you've joined. The points you earn expire after some amount of time, but I don't think your card/membership expires.
