Adding 1 additional day to 8 Day PH tickets

Can anyone tell me if we can add an extra day to our PH tickets when we arrive at HS gate?

If you haven't already used the first 8 days, yes a ticket can be upgraded to add a day when onsite. However, I strongly advise adding the extra day in advance so you can make a park reservation. Otherwise you may not be able to use the 9th day if you can't get a park reservation for that extra day.

I actually already have a Park Pass for the extra day. It's our arrival day and we will only go to HS if I can secure a BG for RoTR. (I was able to get Park Passes without the extra ticket because we have AP vouchers.)

Go directly to an outside the HS park gates ticket booth or Guest Relations and upgrade your ticket.
Then, get into the entrance line.

That’s an interesting situation. Sounds like you are all set on the answer already.

It’s funny, just today we added a 10th day to our tickets just in case we wanted to go to a park on our departure day. It made sense to do it now even though our trip is in late July/early August because there is a very very good chance that we would be unable to reserve MK (the park we would visit our departure day) for that day if waited to do it after we had already arrived for our visit.

You can try. The resorts and parks have separate computer systems and some resort CMs are not as knowledgeable of the parks system.

Most likely many of the parks will have already been reserved and you will not get the choice that you wanted, or any choice to reserve a park. If you are considering an extra day I would highly recommend adding it now. In our case, for our family of five, it was only around $65 to add the extra day. I would rather spend that now and risk not using that day, than want to have that extra day, try to add it while we are there and be shut out of our desired park.

We didn't get a ticket for our arrival day bc we just want to swim at the pool and have dinner and also our flight could be delayed. Our arrival day is already sold out, but in case it is raining and we cant swim I would try to add a day. It probably won't be possible. We can always go to Disney Springs. I don't think we will get to our room until 5 pm or later anyway.

If your arrival day is already sold out of all 4 park reservations, they won't allow you to add another day to your current tickets to use that day.
