Am I the only person who is addictive to this movie? I mean really addictive.

I start at the first week of December and when our local tv section comes out I go through the paper with a highlighter and mark when it is coming on. I do this every Saturday when the new tv section comes out. I don't just mean the traditional movie either, any of them.

I have seen ones with Ceciley Tyson, Susan Lucci, Jack Palance (western theme), Bill Murray, Henry Winkler (depression in America theme), Albert Finney (musical), Tori Spelling (actress clawing way to the top), Vanessa Williams (singing diva clawing way to the top), Tom Arnold (Chasing Christmas, this was actually very funny), Patrick Stewart, George C Scott, Reginald Owens, Alistair Simms(my farvorite), there was one made with country stars one year, and of course the muppets, and of course one with Mickey Mouse.

Last night I was watching a show about Christmas and they showed part of a clip of one that I have never seen (old black and white) I sat on the edge of my chair hoping they would tell who was in it but no, it must be one that never made it to air.

I know I need help  but hey at least it only takes hold once a year.
:rotfl2:

Have a great day!

Oh, I always look forward to these movies. All Christmas movies! :teeth:

I love all the Christmas shows as well, but if "A Christmas Carol" comes on it will be watched before anything else. :rotfl2:

Tomorrow night, I plan on making some hot chocolate (or maybe some eggnog) ;), and then I'm going to watch my "Christmas Carol" DVD, the Allistair Simms version! I love how he laughs toward the end of the movie!! :teeth:

There is an older version from 1938. It is on TV from time to time.

Do you have a Tivo?
you could have set the Tivo to find/record ANY SHOWING of "christmas carol"

heheh

I swear...Tivo is the best invention ever.

When he has the char woman on the steps and messes up his hair, I love that part. When he gives her the money and she thinks he is paying her off to keep her mouth shut about being crazy.

The 1938 is the one with Reginald Owens I believe. That also has June Lockhart (Lost in Space mom and Timmys mother in Lassie) in it. Her father plays Bob and her mother is his wife and she is one of the kids. I know way to much information. :rotfl:

Hmmm...don't have but maybe by next year. ;)

I am so addicted to it!

Have you see the lifetime one, where scrooge is a woman and it is set in a modern city?

Is that the one with Susan Lucci, she runs a department store, Cecily Tyson runs a loan office.

Not a problem IMO, there is enough versions out there to allow you to watch a different one for every day December.

I've been wanting to get the one with Patrick Stewart, maybe in the after Christmas sales.

My favorite one is still "Scrooge" with Albert Finney.

I Tivo'd the one with Alastair Simms...watched the first 5 minutes and I just couldn't get into it...I like my musical version! heheeh

Although I have not seen most of the versions you mentioned, Shirley, I am also a huge fan of 'A Christmas Carol'. I have read the book, gone to live theatre, and just love the classic versions. I wish I could take some parts of one and mix with good parts of another, but my favorite is also Alistair Sims. The redemption message never gets old to me, especially at Christmas time. :)
