I can't stop watching. I was up past 2am watching last night. Everything else that's on tv right now just seems so unimportant, or silly. I can't believe my eyes, and I think that's part of why I can't turn away.

What are YOU watching? CNN? Weather Channel? FOXNews? MSNBC , or something else?

I was--but dropped off. I couldn't look at the images of the refugees anymore. So didn't see any rescues today.

I will probably watch again in a day or two.

I've been watching WWL in NOLA (relocated to Baton Rouge/LSU). I don't have cable to watch the others.

Ya, my mother is also addicted to the news now. She was up till 3am last night. Thats all that is on anymore in our house.

me too :sad1:
I have left the house to go to the land and do some work - just needed to get out of the house and away from it -

I turned it off this morning. I have read a few new articles, but that is it. I needed a break.

My DH is glued to all of the news channels. when one goes to commercial, he flips to another. He even complained that they weren't showing any new footage and cheered today when they had new pictures. I know how pathetic! I'm not defending him. I even suggested he turn it off for awhile for the kids sake but no luck. Only thing that got him to leave it alone is he's a firefighter and was called out to a 30 acre forrest fire 5 hours ago. :cheer2:

:sad1:  :sad1:  :sad1:  I, too, was addicted to news coverage of Katrina. I flipped between all major news channels. I found myself awake at 3am, tears streaming down my face as I watched the horror unfold in front of me. I actually vomited once while watching the news. However, I decided that this Labor Day weekend to turn off the news. There's nothing I can do for those poor souls. I made donations to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Humane Society, said a prayer, and turned off the TV. I simply can't watch anymore. It was tearing me in two. God Bless and help those people!

I have been glued non stop. This entire week I had a hard time thinking of anything else. I stayed up all night one night, not a wink of sleep, because I was watching coverage. I just feel compelled to know what is going on.

I felt so many emotions this week, emotions I haven't felt in a long time or ever.

My TV has stayed on Fox News since last Saturday before Katrina even hit. I listen to Fox on my XM Radio in my car too. I am a news junkie as it is but I am really glued to my TV and news radio right now. I usually listen to music though when I am in my car but I haven't heard music in a week. Even when I am at work and I take a break or I am at lunch I am watching the news in the breakroom, as is everyone else.

I was watching a lady evacuating off of I-10 that was grinning from ear to ear on the helicopter she was so happy to get out of there. That made me cry and the reporters were quite touched by the scene too. She couldn't stop smiling while she was sitting there and gave a thumbs up. I saw another lady walking down the street and dance as she was singing "I am leaving New Orleans", she was literally singing and dancing as she was being interviewed. These were definetely some of the better images I have seen over the past several days.
