It seems like it's going to be a long wait!
The wait will be worth it though. We are going to Christmas.
We've booked at the Disneyland Hotel this year with the hopes of getting into the new tower.
I know it's a long shot but prices are up compared to last year. We stayed at the Grand Californian for the same price we are paying this year.

The grounds make not be loooking great but chances are going to be good that you could get one of the two new towers, because they are well into rehabing the second of the three right now.
