We are going to POR w/a 30% off PIN in early July. Is it worth turning into a package and adding QSDP or DDP? Or is OOP better. The dining plan is so expensive and my kids are young Disney Adults. If it were a Free Dining promo and not the PIN, I would take that in a minute. I would love to hear any recommendations. Thanks!

It really depends on how you eat. The most recommended advice is to usually pick the restaurants you want and keep a tally of what you think everyone would order. Add up those #s and see how it compares to the cost of the dining plan.

Other people just like the idea of getting the dp so that all is paid for in advance. I'll bet you'd come out ahead paying OOP with disney "adults" in your party who are children in the "real world."

Thank you. I looked at the menu's on Allears. OOP seems to the way to go. There have a been a lot of price increases since last Summer. Wow! We do some buffets but not every day. Most of the adult menu options are not appealing to my children except in Italian restaurants. In that case, they order the least expensive item which is Spaghetti and Meatballs or Pizza (by choice). If the DDP were free, I would take it because staying at a Moderate would obviously be a great value dollar for dollar. Looks like OOP wins. Thanks again!

Will they allow you to combine a PIN with the dining plan?

Yes. At least with my PIN I have been able to turn from a ROOM ONLY into a package (including tickets and dining plan). I have been annoyingly indecisive since I have gotten this PIN. I first booked at the Beach Club as a Room Only with the 30% PIN. Then I moved, to POR and turned into a package with tickets and QSDP. Then I removed QSDP and left tickets. Now it is time to book ADR's and I was considering whether to add DDP to package. I have made a few ADR's but have decided after my post and looking at menus to not at DDP. I will keep tickets and add insurance at 45 day mark--unless a better offer presents itself...
