Add on ?

I would like to add on points at AKV. If Jambo is sold out and I get Kidani points will I get 2008 points or will I only get 2009 points?

As there is no difference in ownership of "Kidani points" vs. "Jambo points", the real question is what AKV points will you get. That depends on when you buy. If you wait until 2009 to add-on, you won't get 2008 points.

I understand that there is no difference between the two and that I will not get 2008 points if I wait until 2009, I just want to make sure I will get the 2008 points (that I can bank) since Kidani will not be open until May 1, 2009. I assume the 2008 points I get will not be good for reservations until after May 09.

You won't get 2008 points if your UY is before May because Kidani does not exist until May of 2009.

My current use year is April. If I won't get April 2008 points, I might as well wait until 2009 to add on. Is my thinking right?

I just got off the phone with my guide and added on points. I was told I do get the 2008 points since I am a current member. They are selling December 08 use years to new members and those points are not useable until May 09.

OK, I just did an AKV add on. If you add on now, you will get 2008 points. If you are able to get Jambo points, they will be immediately usable. If there are no Jambo points available in your UY, you will get Kidani points. The Kidani points will be 2008 points, but they will not be usable until the 2009 use year. So you would bank the 2008 points. There would be no dues on the Kidani points for 2008 as they are not yet usable for reservations.
