Add-on: Which resort?

Looking for some advice...We currently have 100 HH points and 60 BWV points. We wanted to do a small add-on of 25-30 points at BWV, but had to get on the waitlist. In order to make a reservation for July, we need to do an add-on so we're going to add-on at a different resort. I talked to my guide yesterday and told him we'd do a 30 point HH add-on. Now I'm having second thoughts. The price per point is $87 which makes me wonder why is HH so low now, will we have trouble selling it if we ever decide to, will Disney decide to sell HH, etc. I noticed dues are some of the highest now. Since it is a small add-on, is it really a big deal? Also, last time we wanted to do an add-on at HH, everything had to go through SC attorneys with extra papers to sign, etc. so we ended up buying BWV points. Does anyone know if the process is still more complicated?

Typically, we do not make reservations more than 7 months in advance so part of me thinks that it doesn't really matter where we buy. Not sure which direction we should go.

Thanks!

If you are making reservations less than 7 months before your WDW trips, then it makes absolutely no difference which DVC resort you have as a home resort.

In your situation, I'd buy at OKW (low buy in cost and dues) or SSR (longer contract).

I don't know why HH is more difficult for you to purchase directly from Disney but I do think it and VB will have lower resale value now and in the future simply because most people who are interested in DVC want to stay at WDW, and those resorts don't provide any home resort advantage there.

Good luck. :)

I agree..given your parameters I'd either go for OKW because of it's low cost/dues combo or buy SSR to get the longer contract date.
